To manually put your computer in the Standby mode, use one of the following three methods:

NOTE: To put your computer in the Standby mode, your must have a computer that is set up by the manufacturer to support the standby power option.
Method 1: At Computer Shutdown (Desktop and Laptop)

Click Start, and then click Shutdown.
In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, in the What do you want the computer to do? box, click Standby.
Click OK.

Method 2: Press Power Button (Desktop and Laptop)
To use the Power button to place your computer in the Standby mode, follow these steps:

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Power Options.
In the Power Options Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
In the When I press the power button on my computer box, click Standby.
Click OK or click Apply, and then press the Power button on your computer.

NOTE: When you click Apply, your new setting are saved, but the Power Options Properties dialog box stays open. When you click OK, your new settings are saved, but the Power Options Properties dialog box closes.

Method 3: Close the Lid (Laptop)
To place your computer in the Standby mode by closing the lid to the computer, follow these steps:

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Power Options.
In the Power Options Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
In the When I close the lid of my portable computer box, click Standby.
Click OK or click Apply, and then close the lid of your laptop computer.

CAUTION: You must save your work before you put your computer into the Standby mode. While your computer is in the Standby mode, unsaved information in your computer's memory cannot be saved to the computer's hard disk. If your computer experiences an interruption in its power supply, all of the unsaved information stored in your computer's memory is lost.

NOTE: To disable the Standby mode or to change the power options, repeat the steps in method 2 or method 3 and select the power option that you want.

Nu e nevoie sa stii asta?
E, eu am ASUS cu sistemul power 4 gear care permite sa limitezi si procesorul, timp stand by si toate cele.:)
Nu stiu la tine cum e, cauta prin control panel.

Click dreapta pe Desktop --> Propertiers --> Screen Saver --> Power --> Power Schemes (acolo dai Always ON) si te mai duci la --> Advanced si dai Do Nothing la toate 3 alea , sper sa ai inteles

Normal nu ar trebui sa intre in stand-by daca descarci ceva , la mine cand las utorrent pornit nu se inchide , dar daca las doar mess-u pornit se inchide.
